Who I am

I am Leah Fowler, a personal trainer and strength coach based in Dereham, Norfolk, trading as a sole trader. I am the data controller for the personal information described here. You can contact me at leah@aphroditefitness.co.uk.

What I collect, and when

When you apply for coaching. The application form on this site is a Google Form. It asks for your name and contact details, your training history and goals, and health information such as injuries, medical conditions, pregnancy or postnatal status. I need this to train you safely.

When you subscribe to the newsletter. Your name and email address.

When you contact me directly. Whatever you choose to include in your email or message.

This website is a set of static pages. It does not run its own database, does not ask you to create an account, and does not process payments.

Health information

Health details count as special category data under UK GDPR and get extra protection. I collect them only because I cannot program safely without them, and I rely on your explicit consent, given when you submit the application. I use them solely to assess whether I can help you and to design your training. I do not share them with anyone else, and you can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing me.

Why I am allowed to use it

  • Consent — for health information and for newsletter emails. You can withdraw it at any time.
  • Taking steps to enter into a contract — for handling your application and replying to you.
  • Legitimate interests — for responding to general enquiries and keeping basic records of my own business.

Who else can see it

I use Google Workspace (Google Forms for applications, Gmail for correspondence) to receive and store this information. Google acts as a processor on my behalf. I do not sell your data, and I do not share it for advertising.

How long I keep it

If you become a client, I keep your records for the duration of our work together and for up to six years afterwards, which is the period recommended for insurance and tax purposes. If you apply but we do not go ahead, I delete your application within twelve months. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how it is used, to withdraw consent, and to ask for it in a portable format. Email me and I will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Cookies

This site does not set advertising or tracking cookies. The embedded Google Form may set cookies of its own when it loads, governed by Google's privacy policy.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will be updated.
